Elena Ohlander is an illustrator and painter originally from Minnesota now residing in Jacksonville, Florida. Her focus is in illustration that explores identity, gender issues, space, individuality, and pop culture with a Japanese context. Her main influences are Taiyo Matsumoto, Hayao Miyazaki, Yayoi Kusama, and Yoshitomo Nara.
Elena began making art as a young child and eventually obtained her BFA in photography from The Art Institute of Jacksonville in 2014. Photography played a huge role in helping inform her understanding of light and shadow in her illustrative and painting work.

Elena mentions how much of her recent success has come from networking with potential buyers and participating within the arts community.
